Chongqing Institute of GreenandIntelligent Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as 'Chongqing Academy'), is a research institution directly affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, jointly established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the former Executive Office of the State Council Three Gorges Project Construction Committee, and the People's Government of Chongqing Municipality. It began to build in March 2011, received official reply of the State Commission Office of Public Sectors Reform on July 26, 2012, and was formally established on October 9, 2014, following a three-party acceptance inspection. Chongqing Academy consists ofthe Institute of Electronic Information Technology, the Institute of Intelligent Manufacturing Technology, the Three Gorges Institute of Ecological and Environmental Research, and the Institute of Biomedical and Health Research (under establishment). As of the end of 2021, Chongqing Academy has over 400 employees. Chongqing Academy was guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, aligned itself with General Secretary Xi Jinping's call for 'Four Leading ' and 'Two Accelerations and One Effort'. It positions itself as the main force in national strategic scientific and technological capabilities, adheres to the responsibilities as a 'national team' and 'national personnel', emphasizes its mission and focus on core duties, gorges ahead with initiative, and accomplishes the positive action. To achieve high-level technological self-reliance and build a technologically strong nation, Chongqing Academy will continuously make new and greater contributions. Chongqing Academy is driven by significant demands, including ensuring the ecological security of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and fostering industrial upgrading in the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. Leveraging interdisciplinary advantages in the fields of ecology, intelligent manufacturing, and information technology, Chongqing Academy arranges 'River-Reservoir Ecological Intelligent Technology' and 'Carbon-Based Photoelectric Detector'askey research directions, and sets emerging frontier direction, including 'Edge Intelligence Technology,' 'Space Additive Manufacturing,' 'Nanopore Single-Molecule Sequencing,' and 'Organic Solar Cells.' Chongqing Academy aims to build a national-level green intelligent technology innovation platform supported by big data and intelligence, playing a crucial role in supporting national strategies. Chongqing Academy emphasizes original innovation and strategic technological research and development, achieving a series of symbolic achievements. It conducts key research on facial recognition technology, and the developed face recognition system is widely used in important areas such as airports and banks. Chongqing Academy also constructs the theory and method of modeling, reduction and analysis for high-dimensional sparse big data, conducting research in the direction of latent semantic analysis. Additionally, Chongqing Academy has developed wide-band high-absorption carbon nanocomposites, which has been applied in radiometers, spectrometers, aerospace calibration blackbody and other products. Its optical and space environment adaptability and other indicators have reached the international leading level, and it has been installed in FY-3 and FY-4 meteorological satellites. Chongqing Academy has carried out research on large-area graphene preparation technology and developed graphene uncooled broadband infrared detector chips. Taking the large reservoirs in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River as the object, the carbon cycle monitoring method of large reservoirs was innovated, the greenhouse gas monitoring network of large reservoirs in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River is constructed, and the carbon accounting method of large hydropower projects in China was proposed. In the field of space in-orbit additive manufacturing technology, a space in-orbit high-precision 3D printer was developed. Chongqing Academy has also conducted research on printable flexible solar cell materials and devices, developing high-efficiency polymer solar cells. Breaking through the principle of traditional BOD detection instrument, a BODq rapid detection system based on microbial electricity production was constructed, and a BODq rapid detector with independent intellectual property rights was developed. Based on the detection of key elements of water ecological environment and the analysis of water ecological environment driven by big data integrating domain knowledge, automatic monitoring equipment and system were developed.
